What the current sources confirm
- Official guidance says local saves are stored in the Enshrouded directory under %USERPROFILE%/Saved Games/.
- It says Steam Cloud saves are accessible from Enshrouded's Steam Remote Storage path and gives a local-to-cloud migration process.
- For a dedicated server, the official default saveDirectory is ./savegame. The server keeps rolling backups, normally every 10 minutes or when it shuts down.
- The official recovery steps say to make a backup first and then select the newest usable rolling backup.
